Pros

OK discounts, but outdated looks. high stress, no work balance, high turn over at entry to mid management, if that is what you likee

Cons

No career mobility in the NY 650 building, same apparel leaders from the 90's. the design and production offices are not inspiring the lifestyle RL portrays to the public. Same people have been in power for decades so no room for new young ideas. not sustainable ways of working, too many development samples, it's cluttered. No diversity in Head of production, brand and creative roles within apparel.

Pros

Good people, Good discounts. Great place to learn and work on cool projects. Lots of philanthropy efforts made my company that you can get involved in.

Cons

Management is top heavy and rude. It takes forever to get a decision finalize. Deadline expectations are unrealistic. Don't expect a good salary, good work life balance or a reasonable raise...ever. Moving up takes blood, sweat and a lot of tears.

Pros

Working with an iconic American fashion brand is just one positive

Cons

Toxic work environment with a high school mindset and a very high turnover. There was no collaboration in team effort, but favoritism amongst the managers. Instead of collaborating and assisting each other as teams with a consistent daily workflow, a majority of the employees would constantly complain about their low pay and positions. Unfortunately, the complaining would occur everyday in the department. Sadly, even your boss would complain about their pay and stagnant position to you. There would also be other constant personal complaints, which created an even more toxic work environment. Furthermore, there was a lot of bullying and backstabbing involved with me in the department and I was never appreciated as an employee and team member from the start. There’s a saying where 80-90% of your daily life is at work. Well guess what? At RL, you can sense the toxic, negative energies in the air once you walk in and that will follow you towards the rest of the day and each week. Lastly, there was no value in employees except for the very few selected ones. I forewarn anyone to not ever work here in design or even start your career here. There is a constant high turnover with a toxic work environment and that includes the bullying and backstabbing. It is clearly not a healthy work environment and it would be very detrimental to your mental health down the line.
