Pros

Working at a corporation as long-standing and financially stable as Ralph Lauren can be an incredible experience, you have the opportunity to work with all of the biggest names in the industry from top retailers to the best vendors across the globe and because of the very cushy financial situation you are able to work on a lot of development which can be great for learning and general experience.

Cons

There is a lot of creative oversight by upper management which can be good but can also be incredible scattered and often times different people are pushing for development in completely different directions, managing this oversight leads to a lot of over-development which is time consuming and can really kill morale. It also means that a lot of time is spent on inter-office politics rather than intelligent and thoughtful development.

Ralph Lauren Childrenswear is the worst

Pros

Ralph Lauren sounds impressive to other people who have no idea what a terrible work environment it is.

Cons

This place sucks horribly. Childrenswear can't seem to keep employees for long since it's such an awful place to work. The managers have no idea how to manage and will blame you for literally everything that isn't your fault. No one knows what they are doing. It is completely disorganized and everyone is rude. They only promote people they know personally/are friends with. They freak out if you are a minute late. There is no work life balance. They expect your life to revolve around them when they act like you're disposable and don't value you at all. No one has your back. Pays lower than other companies. No room for growth. Can't wait to get out of here.

Pros

You can learn a lot, but you have to find ways to learn within your job. It's a large company, but each individual brand is like a small company. The discount is great, when they offer an extra discount .

Cons

There are a lot of executives, most have little to no experience in the department they are managing so there is little support for growth unless you transfer or leave. I would like to take classes but there is no tuition assistance or reimbursement in the company. Colleagues and managers are not very trustworthy, and continually cause drama and backstab everyone. I can't say I would want to come back to work for this company if I left. This company is very political...... Friends hire friends, and don't you dare question it.
