Avoid These Recruiters

Pros

They came to me (I was not looking to use their recruiters) because I was a great fit for multiple openings they were looking to fill.

Cons

Only to find out they are either the most unprofessional or simply lazy and to this day neither, of the two, have followed up about the positions with their clients; I even followed up but never got a call back; poor leadership. Recruiters are disturbed when they get ghosted (because they only want the bonus for placing a candidate), but are the reason it occurs; they are the ones who started the trend and Randstad takes the cake when it comes to low class. Sad but the truth.

Pros

They do offer EXPENSIVE health insurance after 90 days.

Cons

Dishonest, disorganized and completely lacking in professionalism. I was hired directly by a large insurance company and told I had to payroll through Randstad the day I started. The on-site company rep was a kid who didn't know anything about Randstad, the client company or how to sign up a new employee, so I wound up tracking down everything with a client employee while this dufus stood around looking stupid. Payroll was never correct or on time, the company didn't do anything to earn the money they stole from me (turns out they took a piece of the hourly billing rate I arranged with client to cover "fees") and when I notified them that the assignment was ending they did not know how to convert my health care coverage to COBRA (despite several calls and emails letting them know I waned to convert to COBRA, I wound up loosing my health insurance due to their lack of knowledge and follow-through). When the assignment was over they asked me to come to their Loop office to meet my "counselor" and explore any additional work that might be available due to the good review and recommendation I received from the client. While I was there a young lady (my 'counselor" who I had never spoken to or met previously) went over my background (she admitted that she had never read my resume or application, presented several available assignments and told me I would be submitted to all of them and to call back in a few days for the status. After our face to face meeting there was no follow up, no returned calls, and no update or status ever provided. A complete amateur operation. Don't waste your time with this one.

Pros

Allows you to learn the staffing industry in regard to the sales process and recruiting process. A good spring board to something else.

Cons

Always penalized. Never rewarded for doing well. Randstad is a churn an burn atmosphere. What they don't tell you is that they expect you to do everything from sales, recruiting, payroll, collections, and admin. We're not given support. The office I was at in Pleasanton is quite spiteful. After putting in my 2 weeks, they terminated me. They wouldn't allow me to return to retrieve all my things. They picked certain items to send back to me. I emailed them for the rest of my belongings and they ignored me. Very catty atmosphere.
