Pros

Rapid Response gives each employee opportunities for advancement and growth. The annual raises are quite generous. I love the people I work with and look forward to seeing them each day. They are very welcoming to newcomers and want everyone to succeed.

Cons

This job is not for everyone. Depending on the department you are in, you may be required to work nights and weekends due to the 24/7 nature of the industry. Also, if you are an operator, be aware that you will have difficult, even tragic, calls. While most alarms are false, we often deal with actual alarms where people’s lives are in jeopardy. Some people can handle that and others can’t. I recommend giving some thought as to whether you will be able to deal with such situations before you apply.
