Pros

- Collaboration is often encouraged and practiced effectively within the organization - There is a strong emphasis on learning new information to develop your overall knowledge as you grow which is incredible - Often have been given creative freedom to try new methods to find the most efficient and effective way to solve an issue - C-Level management is open to discussion and respectful to employees and often communicate with all levels of employees - Remote work allowed me to finish my degree and work for RapidScale while I did it, and our team developed amazing processes for accountability and tracking - Benefits are more than good at RapidScale, great place for employees to grow professionally and personally.

Cons

This company is innovative and as a result change is frequent, though change is not for the worse, it is key to always be willing to learn and adapt quickly, so if you are not a quick learner and proactive thinker, this job may be a challenge.

Pros

The recent acquisition by Cox Enterprises was the huge shot in the arm RapidScale needed. We all got significantly better benefits and now they can hire at will. - New, seasoned management team led by some solid leaders. - Cox benefits including 401K matching with health benefits being very competitively priced. - In one word, the culture is collaborative. You cannot be a lone wolf. You've got to be able to be a team player and ask for help if you get stuck. We work very hard, but play just as hard. I love walking in the door everyday being surrounded by top level talent. - Being a minority myself, the diversity has improved significantly since I arrived over a year ago. - The work-life balance has significantly improved since the Cox acquisition as we've been able to add more engineers across the board.

Cons

RapidScale is NOT for everyone. You cannot sit back and expect to be successful. You have to learn on the fly at times and are going to be thrown into many situations that are outside your comfort zone. This is a con to most, but can be a pro as you'll gain valuable experience. Engineering as a whole is always willing to help each other and any member of RapidScale in general. - Training at RapidScale is pretty much on the job. For example, I had to learn firewalls and more advanced networking without a training class. I was able to do so with the help of one of my teammates. It was very difficult to begin with but ended up being a big plus for me. - Depending on your position, you may need to travel a lot. My position doesn't need to travel as much as Sales.

Pros

I've worked for RapidScale long enough to see both the pre-Cox operation as well as since the acquisition and it's been a great ride so far. I really enjoyed the company and it's culture prior to Cox, but the amazing foundation of culture that was introduced last year was really great. Benefits are above industry standard and everybody I work around is generally always in a very positive mood, even on Monday! This is one of those companies you work with for a long time. The grass is really greener here!

Cons

There aren't really any. I'd expect working under a 60k person enterprise like Cox would introduce the typical political negatives that come with that size of a company but like I said above, the culture really fosters a focus on the employee and satisfaction with their job and their contribution to the company. Nothing really "negative" to say.
