Pros

Forward thinking management team, Fun atmosphere, career growth opportunities, main product has huge social-value (keeping kids safe), challenging and engaging work

Cons

Occasional shifting of priorities can lead to very aggressive timelines. This is best mitigated by making management aware of the challenges related to "shifting gears" specifically related to the impact on timeline.

Pros

-Gained valuable professional experience -Made some lasting relationships -Found out what I was made of and what I'm willing to put up with

Cons

-Inexperienced leadership; it's ok not to know everything but growth is about learning and the CEO and management either are not learning or don't care about the mistakes they make -Not tech friendly; the CEO micromanages everything and has zero technical background -Incentives; a lot of incentives were promised in writing and verbally and were not delivered and no reasons as to why -Turnover; for such a small company, there is a lot of turnover -Culture; no concern for employee satisfaction or retention

Overworked, under-payed and un-appreciated

Pros

Very casual setting with no real dress code. The office is nice and in a neat part of the Heights. The original owners were awesome and really made the place a good environment to work in. Leadership in the beginning was not bad but could have been improved a bit. Training was short and mostly on the job style training. Benefits are not bad. The company is well valued by its employees and customers.

Cons

The new owner/CEO is more worried about sales numbers and not the employees that keep the place running, it is clear this is the first real company that the CEO has run. This is a 100% technology/web driven business with NO consideration or thought about the back-end technology keeping the day to day business and applications running. New management would rather nickle and dime every aspect of technology upgrades so it can be spent on un-needed sales territories and consultants. Management would rather hire from outside, than from within. Pay and compensation for employees is sub-par and not even close to industry standards. Open door policy is talked about but your concerns will never be addressed or just flat out ignored. The company is a software company, yet cannot deliver software updates because management refuses to hire new developers. You will be un-knowingly volunteered to work after hours and on weekends, yet no appreciation or compensation is given. You will be required to perform 3 peoples jobs ALL at the same time while not getting payed anything extra for your efforts. Upper management never acknowledges success but will drill you into the ground at even the slightest mistake, making a scene in front of the entire company.
