Good paid time off

Pros

You get 3 weeks of PTO to start, 4 weeks at 5 years. 2 weeks paid off for Christmas. 12 holidays paid and every other Friday off. It adds up to about 3 months off for the year. You are also able to trade OT hours for PTO hours (within a pay period) to help save on PTO with manager approval. Work is as stressful as you make it on yourself.

Cons

Known for low balling wages. Average raise is 1.5% to 3% if you get a raise. -annually You can’t move up (promotion) unless you penetrate a certain % on your pay grade. If you decided to work here your starting pay affects your whole career at Raytheon. They never promote within the department to avoid drama among peers, aside from “leads” who tend to not get paid for their promotion. Be prepared for shop talk at most of Raytheon.

Pros

Programs are very good to experience and to learn from. This company creates a powerful and diverse skill set of engineers at its arsenal: -Systems Engineers -GNC Engineers (aka Autonomous vehicles engineers, could pass for software engineers as well) -Software Engineers -Mechanical engineers -Electrical engineers -Network engineers Etc… -Seems like the work will be stable, this is never guaranteed though -9/80 schedule

Cons

-No promotions -No incentive to work harder and get better -Low morale -Depressing work environment at the Tucson location -You can feel the vibe from the engineers , they are depressed and fed up -I also noticed many of the engineers are either overweight or skinny, why don’t you guys work on your body, it shows respect for yourself and makes the company look better, not to mention you make more money when your fit and confident. This will in return make the company more money.

Pros

If you want to work hard and figure out a solution independently this is a good place to work. You will not get recognized, this is a place for people who love trouble shooting and finding great solutions. It is for personal enrichment. If you aren’t very motivated this is a great place for you to work. I still enjoy being able to learn so many diverse skills. With the lack of organization you can basically pick up anything and there is so much work it is a great opportunity to learn new skills independently. Once I am done learning I am definitely leaving.

Cons

Lack of communication among groups. Lies by other groups, lots of blaming instead of working together to find a successful path forward. People aren’t held accountable lying, not working, gaslighting, hostility, anger and retaliation for you trying to get your job done. This starts with management for an integral part of the program.
