Pros

Coworkers are mostly pleasant and truly willing to help on another The view is great view from the new building and it's somewhat modern - open and inviting for collaboration There are opportunities to learn new technologies as they're moving into the cloud/mobile environment

Cons

The company had a new CEO with vision but Rob Glaser didn't approve as he seems to be wedded to RealPlayer for some reason. The company took 10 steps backwards when the old guard returned and they really don't get the new world of devices anywhere though they seem to think they do. The new office building, though nice inside, is in a terrible location for commuters The people who really cared about making good products and knowing how to do so have left, or are close to leaving.

Pros

- Great location in downtown Seattle. Close to the public market. - Work-life balance is generally good - OK on benefit/salary

Cons

- People who are buddies of some upper management seem to get unjustified raises and promotions. I have seen very qualified employees who never get promotions and very little raises. As a result, these quality employees left the company and moved on. - Too much office politics. You don't want to be on the wrong side of these managers and their buddies for whatever the reason or you're doomed. It was exhausting and not easy to focus on 'the real work' 100% of the time.

Pros

They will pay you good money, and you don't have to do a lot of work. There is always a lot of anxiety around quarterly earnings, but if you put your head down and don't make a lot of noise, you won't get fired for a long time, and can keep cashing those paychecks.

Cons

The senior management are completely incompetent, so they keep changing their strategy and priorities. The company barely squeaks by each quarter, so everyone is focused on fighting short term fires with no regard whatsoever to any long-term vision. Most of the company works in private offices, and there is no sense of camaraderie or enthusiasm-- in fact, because of the culture of blame that is pervasive, most managers are territorial and backbiting. It is a terrible place to work
