      Real is the real deal.

      Pros

      Great attitude, lots of freedom, a will to win, history of success, patents, name recognition. The company has been around since 1995 and has proven its staying power. Real was the first compant to see music downloads as a successful business, and has grown from there. The stock has potential to be a real homerun stock this year. The CEO is well known in the industry as are several of his direct reports. There is opportunity in the music and video sectors for Real to suceed.

      Cons

      Trafiic is tough in Seattle. The industry is ever-changing - that is both a positive and negative.

      Real hires good people, then traps them in a dysfunctional environment.

      Pros

      If you're coming from a small company and want to grab experience from a big company to move on in your career, this is a pretty good step.

      Cons

      Completely dysfunctional environment makes it very difficult to do one's job; lack of leadership and strategy makes it very difficult to know what you're supposed to be doing. Intra-office communication is very poor. Bullying is a problem that is seldom addressed. The CEO often oversteps the responsibilities of his job to meddle in other areas and make it impossible for people to do their jobs, viz., writing campaign slogans for products and insisting that they be used when no marketing strategy even exists yet. I have never worked with a group of people this smart (meaning everyone BUT upper management) who had a harder time doing their job because of the environment that was being created around them.

      Global company with worldwide opportunities. Develops Cool products & services such as rhapsody (music), realarcade (games), superpass, realplayer etc. Free rhapsody accounts for all employees. Flexible working hours and great working environment. Provides employees with benefits comparable to industry standards such as 401k plan, medical/dental/vision benefits, flexpass for metro commuters, subsidised car parking, free soda. Employees can relax by playing ping pong, pool table, bowling alleys, fitness room. Specialized rooms for moms (mother room). Nap room for taking some time to nap. Cafeteria offering multiple eating options.. Lot of scope for career advancement. Great referral bonus ($1500 - $3000). Fun parties..

      Pay is not that competitive.
