      A great place to learn

      Pros

      Mostly remote since COVID but teams do get together a couple of times a month. Lots of emphasis on personal development - 10% time to pursue pretty much whatever learning you want, and special interest groups if it matches what you want to do. No reasonable expense spared on hardware and tooling. Good budgets for teambuilding. Company is growing sustainably and profitable.

      Cons

      Depends somewhat on your team; some are working with recent tech but others are dealing with a lot of old legacy code. Reteaming happens once a year but not everyone gets what they want. Opportunities to progress beyond Senior engineer are a bit limited by having to wait for a role to come free.

      Collaborative, safe, sometimes frustrating

      Pros

      Such a safe environment where experimentation and transparency of failures is encouraged and supported. Work/life balance is great - there is a genuine focus on people's health and wellbeing

      Cons

      The company has grown over the past years and continues to do so which is great - this does lead to frustration as we struggle to adapt our processes to cope whilst not losing the things that make us Redgate.
