Pros

Three weeks of vacation after your first year of employment. Regions is a great place to work for working Moms. They are very good about allowing you to leave when you need, if you have finished your work. The benefits are as good as any comparable company in this area.

Cons

VERY "Corporate" atmosphere. Constantly, getting "Regions values" videos because the merger was such a mess that most employees aren't sure who they're reporting to. The merger took too long to straighten out, but the pieces are beginning to align. Also, if you aren't in a profit generating area, you'll probably be laid off at some point in the future or you're working with a bunch of lazy people that only care about getting off on time.

Pros

Lots of nice people working here. Decent benefits. Sunny weather. Very affordable region. You will not be overworked. High turnover causes lots of opportunities for internal advancement. If you're lucky enough to land a position in the upper realms of middle-managment you can do almost no work and earn a fantastic living!

Cons

Have you seen financial stocks lately? Your experience depends entirely on your department. While some departments are more cohesive, I've seen high turnover and employee dissatisfaction following the acquisition of AmSouth. Zero identity. Zero culture. If you want your hard work and outstanding results to be rewarded financially - either get a promotion or take a hike! Regions is living in the stone age. Still using paper at an alarming rate. Paper is put in boxes. Then Regions pays someone to pick up those boxes for off-site storage. Why so? Because virtual storage is "not in the budget." Backwards business as usual.
