Good people, bad management

Pros

People and culture was great, consistent through different markets

Cons

HR was a nightmare to work with. They will fire employees who have been there a long time without holding an investigation, and will look for any excuse to terminate them. Pay is subpar, not competitive with market.

Great people, onerous processes

Pros

Really great, hard working people. It's easy to make friends here and never want to leave. Benefits are good if you live in Alabama Good PTO and 11 paid holidays Weekly emails that give employees advice on finance, which I think is really cool.

Cons

Seriously ancient/burdensome business processes. I'm pretty sure Regions invented the "we've always done it this way" slogan, and "complexity is our middle name." Work/Life balance is poor depending on the department, you may have to work nights, overnights, and weekends. No more remote work unless you were already hired remote and live too far from an office. Benefits are terrible if you live outside of Alabama. Nothing is covered, you will spend more money paying for the insurance then it will cover for basic/annual appointments - would recommend purchasing private health insurance instead. Annual bonus and merit increase were the worst I've ever seen at any company I've worked for, which was surprising given company size and how well their earnings reports are.
