Pros
The best attributes of the company include a friendly, laidback culture, great work/life balance, flexibility in hours, and generally supportive senior management. They make a decent effort to retain young, talented workers through mentorships and engaging them in other Bank related activities.
Cons
The aforementioned pros depends on the department you are working in. No formal mentoring program or leadership training provided to those interested. Pace of work is slow (although this might be a pro for some). Obtaining resources to work effectively is not easy. Most employees lack engagement and are not inspiried by the work they do. This is evidenced by empy floors by 5:00 pm and earlier on Fridays. This might be endemic to banking but the mindset at Regions is very traditional and outlook is not progressive. The Bank's footprint is primarily in the SE with headquarters in Birmingham so those wanting to move NE or West Coast should not look to work here.
