Pros

Great teams and dedicated staff. Local teams are amazing but not experienced.Can-do emergency response organization.Good Salary compared to other NGO's. They go to areas where many NGO's refuse to go.

Cons

When I was there, it was a one woman show, who literally controlled everything. However, the intent and delivery of emergency services to the needy population, was noteworthy, and made the work fulfilling. Regional structure serves the organization well but some regional directors were lacking the experience leading to burnout and poor professional and personal relationships. Financial systems are improving. Headquarters need to be more present and involved.

Pros

RI is a great place to break into the humanitarian sector, you learn a ton and it prepares you well for your future career. They hire a lot from within especially with interns. The staff are kind, hard-working, and dedicated. With the new CEO, there is tons of potential and a bright future for the years ahead.

Cons

Staff need more opportunities to travel to the field to see the programs first hand.
