      Supportive and Challenging Environment Doing Work that Makes a Difference

      Pros

      Remitly cares about your well-being as an individual, and they are generally open to feedback regarding what they can do to best support their employees. The CEO genuinely cares about creating a product that supports immigrants, not exploits them, and most of the leadership follows that guidance.

      Cons

      Remitly is in that awkward growth stage where it is figuring out how to still act with the flexibility of a startup, but is truly too large to be as agile as one. Cross-team collaboration and communication can sometimes be difficult to coordinate and execute. They are aware of the problem, though. For some people, the base salary pay may not be competitive. Stock options are offered, so it's a balance between getting a larger salary now or betting on the future. I'd also recommend weighing the benefits of good work-life balance.

      A company making real impact

      Pros

      100% mission driven, Remitly is build around its mission to serve immigrants around the world and this impacts every decision. - The people, Remilty is filled with some of the most talented, knowledgable, and caring people I have ever worked with. I am inspired by the work of my fellow employees, challenged to push myself, and really love working with everyone in the company. Culture - Remitly is very intentional on its culture and it shows. They live and breathe their values everyday and if these values align with you as a person there is really no better place to be than Remitly. This culture is created from the Founders of the company and it is felt throughout each person. Many companies can have culture engrained in the highest levels but it is rare to find a place where from intern to CEO everyone is truly bought into the culture and mission. - Leadership. Remitly is truly lead by an amazing group of leaders. The C-suite while not perfect are really truly focused on serving our customers and empowering their teams to grow and learn. It is not just about the bottom line, but making sure every person who works at Remitly is supported and encouraged to grow. I feel very confident in the future of this company because of the leadership.

      Cons

      You will be challenged when you work at Remitly. Challenged to grow, challenged with hard tasks, challenged to think differently. This may not be for everyone, but this is what makes Remitly special. - Very senior level driven company, junior level employees can learn a lot, but may not be involved in decision making. Not a true negative but junior level people should be aware. You must be comfortable or learn to speak up in order for input to be added.

      Pros

      I was really lucky to have a team who was willing to spend time supporting my growth in the industry by teaching me new skills and helping me establish myself within the team.

      Cons

      I would have appreciated working with other interns more closely.
