Pros

Renaissance is a well-rounded, well versed, educational technology company. Has a very family oriented atmosphere, everyone takes care/helps on another when needed. Never have I worked for a company that holds itself to such high quality service as well.

Cons

More emphasis on Parent resources, see below under Advice to Management.

Thanks for this review, as well as this great idea. Engaging with parents is definitely something important to Renaissance and something we do support as part of our Home Connect capabilities. That being said, we have many ideas for how to enhance this for parents and see these kinds of investments as important to our future product roadmap and strategy. We’ll continue to keep our eye on this opportunity. — Marc Caltabiano, Chief Product Officer

Pros

Renaissance provides employees with an exceptional benefits package - from insurance all the way through the time off policies. I can put my family first when I need to because management truly does have a good understanding that sometimes we just need to do that. I have worked in several departments over my 17-year career at Renaissance. The people I work with are some of the kindest and most caring people I've had the pleasure to encounter in life. Management and employees are very helpful and every department I’ve worked in has taken a team approach. We help each other out when needed, support each other, and cheer each other on!

Cons

For an ed-tech company, the hardware (computers, phones, desks, chairs, etc.) that we are provided with are sorely lacking. Renaissance had taken a sales-heavy approach, so the sales group is provided with the latest hardware updates while other groups must rely on refurbished equipment or hand-me-downs. This does take a toll on our ability to efficiently assist our customers. The communication between departments could use some improvement. This is something that has gotten better through the years, but still needs to be improved upon.

I’m sorry to hear that you are having difficulties with your work related equipment. It’s certainly important to us that you have everything you need to perform your job to the very best of your ability. I would recommend you reach out to your manager or directly to me, if you feel comfortable, so we can directly address your concerns. — Cherie Glascock, Vice President, Customer Support

Pros

There is a lot of good energy across the company and a lot of commitment to quality and the mission.

Cons

There are a lot of different communication methods being used across the company but it still seems like communication and ideas don't necessarily flow freely all the time - still some silos.

Thank you for your review. I am pleased to read that our purpose resonates with you and that you recognize the positive energy here. I also appreciate your feedback about silos. I have found that to be an issue at pretty much every organization, but as we focus on it, we can break these silos down. I would really appreciate any ideas you have on how we can do this – happy to talk any time. Thank you again. — Daniel Hamburger, CEO
