Abusive leadership

Pros

Great products that make a positive impact on the communities they are implemented in. I loved selling Renaissance products and I always worked hard to.

Cons

HR & leadership ignored me when I reported my manager for mental abuse. It ended up being my abuser who ultimately followed up to tell me my request to be heard by any other manager was being denied and I would have to meet with them again. This caused me to quit to protect myself from further abuse and I feel I was wrongfully terminated.

Pros

-Good Programs - they're glitchy yet productive -Great benefits -Paid holidays off - Early office closures before holidays we get paid for -Great hours -PTO is always approved

Cons

-If you are not vaccinated you can't get hired by Renaissance -If you're a current employee that is unvaccinated you will be an outcast or forced into a demoted position -Employees are required to do a health check every 24 hours with a clock that counts down (even remote positions) -Employees are required to have a Vaccine Passport to travel -Vaccine mandates are in force for everyone including strictly remote employees -Customers feel like just a number since the company has become so big -There are many programs, which makes it a struggle for Engineers to keep up on the glitches and tech issues -Many legacy employees feel unvalued and pushed out of the company -Most of our staff are of European decent (White) yet all of our marketing shows the minority of our colored employees drawing a false impression. -Renaissance favors special ethnicities which blatantly impacts promotions -Standard minimums for customers are 100 seats. The Renaissance Mission is to Accelerate Learning for "All", yet it's impossible for small schools to fund our programs. -We're told Renaissance is growing yet employees are leaving and the company is understaffed. -Upper management will not talk to the peon employees (those working the front lines)

I’m sorry to read that you wouldn’t recommend Renaissance as a place to work. Glassdoor reviews are confidential, but if you would feel comfortable doing so, please feel free to contact me directly to discuss the items and concerns you’ve outlined. Also, your review gives us the opportunity to clarify our hiring policy as it relates to COVID-19 vaccines and our focus on protecting the health and safety of our employees and customers. Current Renaissance employees are required to be fully vaccinated, subject to ADA and religious accommodations and to the extent allowed by state law, only if they: • Engage in business travel as part of their employment; • Attend in-person meetings or otherwise physically interact with other Renaissance employees; customers, vendors, partners, or other third parties as part of their employment; or • Visit a Renaissance office location. We are requiring new hires to be fully-vaccinated — subject to relevant federal and state laws —because we anticipate that most employees will be required to travel for business, attend in-person meetings or visit a Renaissance office by the end of 2022. — Kim Mitchell, Chief People Officer
