Pros

Fantastic PTO and great benefits. Lots of company holidays. Depending on your manager, you can maintain a strong work life balance. Neat Employee Resource Groups to get involved in!

Cons

Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re going to see a large amount of sales reviews from late 2021 and early 2022. This is not a coincidence. The new CRO has fostered a truly negative sales culture and it is all coming to fruition. I’m shocked to see a company with such an amazing mission totally disregard it all for the bottom line. For example: they had clear qualification criteria for a mid year incentive trip…and changed it on the day they announced the qualifying salespeople so fewer people would get to go. Incredibly manipulative! Just as other reviews have stated, the quotas are becoming so ridiculously high, and the percentage one makes off of each sale gets decreased year over year. So yes, you will be selling more and making less. There is NO transparency around compensation and commission, and base pay is still well below market rates. When asked to discuss compensation, you will not even get an email response, much less an actual conversation. The company keeps purchasing more and more products at a completely unsustainable rate. We are told to sell the products without any knowledge of how the product integrates or what supporting it will even look like. Imagine how this looks to customers! Unfortunately, Renaissance’s greed has caused it to be a place to work where salespeople feel taken advantage of. People are leaving in DROVES. I truly would not recommend working here until there is new leadership.

Pros

The people on the ground level are generally amazing and hard working. But the company take extreme advantage of them. Overworked and underpaid.

Cons

So much wrong with this place but I’ll leave just the one example. Renaissance requires their leadership to select a certain population of their teams for personal improvement plans. So even if the whole team is doing well, directors still HAVE to report a percentage of their team as “underperforming.” So if there are ten people on your team, two of you are required to be on personal improvement plans. Those numbers are not in anyone’s favor. Chances are if you take a job here you’ll probably get put on an improvement plan no matter how hard you work or how well you do. Does that sound like a healthy work culture? It should tell you everything you need to know about the culture.

We appreciate your feedback. Here at Renaissance we do not require leaders to identify a certain percentage of their employees as underperforming or to be placed on a performance improvement plan. We encourage our leaders to coach their employees and provide ongoing feedback. If an employee is not meeting the expectations of their role, we do have a performance improvement process with detailed goals and feedback to help employees succeed.

Pros

Compensation and recognition is good relative to industry standards, but it comes at a cost.

Cons

The most toxic work environment I have ever experienced. Mid-level sales managers will lie to you, play favorites, reprimand you unfairly, hand you unreasonable goals and provide zero support, and no matter how much positive recognition you receive ( 10 sales awards over 10 years) you will never really feel safe, trusted or valued! Your commission plan changes radically every year as they discover new and innovative ways to make you work harder for less. Also, I would take any positive reviews on here with a grain of salt as I was personally asked if I would come and leave a positive review a couple times by my direct manager. Renaissance cares deeply about what is said here, because their reputation has been plummeting over the years.
