Pros
My first month on the job has been great! The pay is competitive, the benefits are awesome, and the team is friendly and encouraging. Renown is the largest employer in northern Nevada and they are setting a positive precedent for other employers to follow. I am somewhat new to the Reno area and had a handful of really terrible interview experience before I found Renown Health. The difference between Renown Health and other local employers that I interviewed with was like night and day. The team at Renown was prompt, respectful, professional, and thorough throughout the recruitment and on-boarding process. Yes, it takes a while to get on board because there are several rounds of interviews followed by a drug test and physical, and then two days of orientation. However, I felt that this process was good because all employees are thoroughly vetted which leads to better retention. Everyone has heard horror stories about hospital administration, but I've been thoroughly impressed by the executives and leaders that I've worked with thus far, including Dr. Slonim. The leaders that I've worked with here at Renown put their employees and the Reno community first, which creates a safe and enjoyable work environment. I have a natural tendency to distrust authority, but here I feel supported by my supervisors. I would recommend Renown Health to anyone in Reno looking for a healthy workplace with great benefits.
