Experience, that is hands-down the only good thing about it

Cons

First, you were going to work very hard for very little pay, even though the surgery department makes the most money for the entire network. Second, It is an abusive environment very abrasive people. Third, turnover is extremely high this is nothing more than a revolving door, management as well as upper management seems to see no problem with this nor do they seem to care about retaining quality employees. Fourth, no effort is being put forth to make this is a better place to work, as an employee you are seen as an expendable resource, they would be happy to replace you with someone for less money although In the end our patients are the ones who suffer due to the lack of experience to skilled staff, truly valuable employees that make valuable contributions are eventually runoff by poor leadership. In conclusion, there was really no incentive for anyone to stay.

My coworkers are amazing and consistently have kept me from crying in the supply closet because I was the only tech on the entire unit, again. They're always hiring because they can't keep people.

Cons

Don't expect respect from management unless you work in management or are an MD, NP, PA, etc. Expectations will pile up one after the other, they will not give you the staff to get it done though. It still has to be done though.
