Pros

Travel benefits, long overnights in fun cities (when you become senior enough to get them!), mostly fun-loving and sweet coworkers. Great job for care-free early twenties!

Cons

Crew scheduling will lie, twist facts, or be threatening to intimidate junior flight attendants into taking assignments that are against the contract or illegal. They are out to make their jobs easy and disregard contracts and federal regulations. Also, if you get hurt on duty--watch out! Either don't fill out an injury report or be prepared to get a lawyer!

Pros

The potential to see the eastern portion of the Continental US , one airport at a time (for 9 hour layovers)

Cons

Terrible pay (maybe a grand a month after deductions), flight benefits are a joke especially if you're trying to fly with a partner, work 14 hour days/ get paid for 5 hours, etc.

Pros

Modern jets and great crews. That's about it. There isn't much to be said positive about Republic.

Cons

I've been a pilot at Republic for 8 years and I am quitting. This company is absolutely awful. As a First Officer, their payscale tops at $36.62/hr at year 4. Thats roughly $36,000/yr pre-tax. Can you afford housing, food, transportation, education debt (if you have any) and put money in savings every month when your post tax net pay is $2,000 for the month? Nobody can, unless you live in the midwest (have fun commuting!). There are no fast upgrades so if you think you want to come work here, better be sure you can survive on their First Officer salary for a long time. And this is just the icing on the cake. - Teamsters Union is worthless. Contract negotiations for 8 years and they have accomplished NOTHING. Teamsters National is a cash prostitute and they care about one thing and one thing only: your dues. - Have fun flying an E-190 for 80% less than pilots who the fly the E-190 elsewhere! Corrupt union allowed the E-190 on property for current pay rates! Talk about a scab operation! - Company buys off Union leaders, makes backdoor deals to keep status quo! - INTIMIDATION TACTICS by the company! Attendance policy directly contradicts FAA medical license regulations. You better fly sick, because just a couple of occurrences and you'll be threatened and intimidated by middle management for your "reliability issues". - FATIGUE POLICY JEOPARDIZES SAFETY. According to FAA policy, a pilot is unfit for duty if he or she is fatigued. Read: Don't get in the cockpit of a plane full of human lives! Remember Colgan flight 3407 crashing over Buffalo? Fatigue was a large contributing factor. At Republic, you better just fly fatigued because if you call off fatigued and THEY deem it is not from their doing, you will be penalized per the attendance policy! (Read above). I had called off fatigue after I couldn't sleep at a hotel that was disgusting and uncomfortable. Deemed personal and I received an occurance. As if I chose to stay at that hotel on my own free will. - LIES! Lies lies and more lies! Republic CEO Bryan Bedford is a religious hypocrite and lies directly to his employee group. While he banks MILLIONS, half of his pilot group nearly qualifies for government assistance! He says he "wants" to change the culture, he "wants" to improve the quality of life for the pilots. WRONG. He'll rake in his millions at your expense. God Bless. Amen. - Outdated and horrible work rules. NO CANCELLATION PAY. Flight cancels, YOU DON'T GET PAID. But guess what? The company still does! RESERVE WORK RULES, WELCOME TO SLAVERY. Enjoy living in a crashpad or hotel for 5-6 days a week and being abused like a stepchild. Welcome to Republic! I could write this review for days but already I'm sick of if. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. There are other Regional Airlines that offer MUCH MUCH more in pay, work rules and benefits. Get that SSyndrome
