Pros

Decent benefits Paid weekly for field positions (even leadership)

Zero onboarding formalities—for a company this size I thought they would have more processes in place…Not at all. My “onboarding” was pitiful. Lack of trust—for the business unit i was in, the culture was absolutely toxic. Leadership was participating in the rumor mill and it was overall struggling Poor coaching and mentoring—so many that wanted or could advance but no leaders wanted to nurture that. Potential for unions-I had a union in my BU and it was so toxic. Years of disgruntled relationships

Pros

Pay is okay but not if you add up all the hours you work, reimbursed for mileage on personal car

Cons

Work into the evening every night just to keep up with admin work and meet field activity requirements during the day. Supposed to defend 30% price increases. Unrealistic expectations all around. The company didn’t use to be this hard to work for but the last couple of years have gotten rough.

Pros

Dynamic, there is no ordinary day. This is a call center structure, must meet required monthly metrics, manage a book of business and assist with other teammates' accounts. You will develop grit because this role will push you beyond your comfort zone. Fast paced and high pressure if you like that. Pay and benefits decent. This job offers great training on all aspects of sales and account management. You will learn a lot if you are self-motivated. You will develop into a solid sales/account manager professional. There are a lot of great people working for Republic Services.

Cons

This job is more a get in and move up role. Frequent procedural changes and focus on activities can lead to confusion on priorities. Communication is key and lacking-effects customers, but managers are working hard to solve it. It is a work in progress. Normal career trajectory is promotion to Account Manager and then Sales Management. Beyond that, there isn't a lot of variety of jobs due to the type of industry waste management is.
