Pros

Overall great place to work in Anchorage. Good people, interesting work.

Cons

There are 3 different offices in Anchorage and lots of offsite work so it doesn't necessarily feel like a typical office environment... that's good and bad.

In August 2013 RDI Anchorage (and Corporate) moved to a great new midtown location. The 3 offices were consolidated into one and overall the space is upgraded. If you're in Anchorage, come by and I'll give you a personalized tour!

Pros

REI maintains a flexible schedule allowing for longer Vacations/ etc. Professional work environment.

Cons

Very low pay- at the AK Branch they compare wages to the State/Muni, but don't provide similar benefits. The interview process emphasized they would make investments in training and education but that fell short. I would recommend shopping around for more competitive pay. In my experience $10-15K / year higher.

Pros

There is a lot of room to grow your career. The company has a diverse client portfolio across many industries so the company is not challenged by dips in economy. The projects are very interesting. They don't lay off employees if a project ends, rather they assign to internal work or to other branches if there are not projects needing staff immediately. They give bonuses for work over salary hours.

Cons

They promote flexibility and work life balance but the work can be all consuming. Not their fault, that there is a lot going on with the various projects.
