Pros

Work-life balance is not just a catch phrase here, we actually walk the talk. Very customer oriented, as you would expect from a consulting firm. Lots of opportunity for growth and development for self-starters and hard workers. Very flexible around career direction and priorities, including time-off and leave of absence. Very collegial, really a great group of people.

Cons

Not much of a ladder if you're looking to "climb" for an inflated salary (fairly flat organization, which is a plus in my book). Not much mentoring or hand-holding (again, this can be seen as a good thing). To be honest, there are not many cons if you're the right fit for the culture. Some clients can be "challenging", but that just goes with the territory (consulting).

Pros

Work was challenging and fun. Coworkers share a pretty good bond, and definitely fun to be around. Lunch was provided on Monday's. Extremely good work/life balance... working from home was acceptable within reason. Management were extremely helpful and friendly. Office was huge compared to normal cubes. A lot of people got their own offices.

Cons

The pay was a bit lower than obtainable elsewhere. It definitely has the usual cons (and pros) of a consulting job.

Pros

RDI has a consistent culture and hires great people. They are focused on being consultants and so billable % is important, but not usually brought up. They are very flexible and treat their employees with respect, honoring vacation requests and flexible time. No politics.

Cons

They don't really embrace new technology; look for the known, proven solution. Open source is not used there much at all and generally discouraged. Opportunities for advancement are limited in the corporate sense (company is organizationally flat) and main career opportunity is to become a project manager.
