Great place to start and develop you as a professional
Pros
The benefits are superior to other companies. Health, dental, company stock match, 24 vacation days!! (my favorite of all), 8 holidays off, quarterly team celebrations, nice workout facility, personal trainers, on-site exercise classes, etc. Most of the people here are incredible too. There are some good managers, but also some HORRIBLE managers. If you are in the right department and have a good manager, you will be happy here for the most part.
Cons
They don't seem to pay their employees as much as other companies for the same positions. Restek believes that since they do offer such great benefits, they don't feel obligated to pay higher salaries. A lot of managers seem to care more about the longevity of their own job than trying to help get employee issues right. There seems to be a good ol' boys club with many of the managers, especially on the manufacturing side. If you aren't "buds" with these guys, you won't get promoted. A lot of politics that take place and because it's 100% employee owned, everyone seems to put their noses where they don't belong constantly. If it doesn't involve your dept or people, stay out of it! Too many people get involved with an issue, which makes the resolution take longer than it should! Learn to trust your people and allow them to make decisions on their own.
