Pros

If you can pick up the pieces and turn the company around, you'll be rewarded. Unlimited PTO.

Cons

Throwing a bunch of companies together and hoping for the best has resulted in nobody actually knowing what they are doing and what they are responsible for. High attrition means there are simply not enough people to get any work done. Management has shown blatant disregard for employees. Benefits were massively cut. Pay has been frozen despite an incredibly competitive hiring market. Sales comp plans are pathetic. The result is a revolving door and low employee morale. The company won't succeed when the majority of employees couldn't care less.

Pros

If you're new to the industry and want to build your resume before moving along to something more stable, this could be a good foot in the door. If you're just looking for something to round off the end of your career, this could be a good transition into retirement. For anyone looking to establish themselves in a career with a stable company, think again. To the credit of the employees who survived the massive cuts and didn't bail out after this Frankenstein's monster was created, they're trying really hard to build a good work culture and long-term stability. Can they do it? Only time will tell. Compensation is at the low end of adequate. Virtually everyone I know who left post-merger has gone on to make more money with similar benefits and far greater stability elsewhere. But again, if you're just at the beginning or end of your career and don't care how the company is doing beyond the next year or two (whenever the venture capital runs out), you could do worse.

Cons

Revalize is a mongrel combination of several previously successful companies that on the surface may have seemed similar to investors, but behind the scenes, they were (and continue to be) incredibly different companies with different software, technologies, methodologies, experience, markets, cultures, and so on. They cut staff to the bone during the merger, including incredibly valuable employees with, in some cases, decades of experience that couldn't be taught, documented, or "transitioned" (their word, not mine) to survivors or newbies. That was bad enough, but it seems they didn't consider that other highly talented and experienced people whom they were depending on to somehow make this crazy scheme work would also look for opportunities elsewhere. Almost overnight there was a massive hemorrhage of talent and experience with a relative handful of people (also highly skilled) left to try to keep it all together, picking up the responsibilities of all those who had left. Then Revalize started offering more pay and different responsibilities to those who stayed, trying to fill that vacuum. Maybe if they hadn't fired so many good people in the interest of saving money, they wouldn't need to try to retain talent by -- guess what -- offering more money, and sometimes even the same job titles, to those who remained to learn and perform the same duties as those they let go. If this were a secretarial pool, temp agency, or unskilled labor, you'd just go hire more people, but this is a highly specialized conglomeration of individuals working on and with proprietary software. Good luck to those who remain behind. Those who involuntarily "transitioned" with a separation agreement are probably the lucky ones, but they're still losing talent who's finding out that there are TONS of opportunities out there that pay better and offer far better long-term stability. The worst part? They continue to bring in more companies. What started out as five companies merging under the Revalize umbrella soon became 10, and now I've lost count of how many more they've added and plan to swallow up in the near future. It's management's explicitly stated goal to just keep buying and amalgamating more companies. It's like the world's most expensive game of CPQ Pokemon -- gotta catch 'em all! Good luck with that.

Pros

The rank and file employees (that still remain) from each of the former companies that make up Revalize are all excellent. People are generally personable and hardworking.

Cons

The owners and new management of the company care very little about anything except lining their own pockets. Third party consultants effectively manage the company. Their goal is to make as much money as possible though aggressive acquisitions of (currently) profitable companies in order to make the numbers of the broader, struggling, new company look better. This company will be likely dumped to another PE firm within three years. People are disposable, and no consideration is given to any internal raises, even those promised by the previous former companies. Promotions are given in title and duties only (no pay increase). No attempts are made to retain any remaining talent the company has left. The technology stack is generally sad and outdated. Nothing current (within the last 5 years or so) is used. There are no experts left to maintain the existing legacy products that are owned by the company's largest customers.
