Pros

-Rigorous, structured training -Fantastic trainer -Certifications paid for (if you pass) -2 year contract guaranteed with a Fortune 500 company (If you pass training) -Huge growth opportunity -Camaraderie with your training class becomes an important aspect of the training

Cons

-Your life feels ambiguous from the very beginning to the end of the program -Little consistency between classes as to the hiring process at the end -Housing provided but not free ($100/week), and you could and probably will be living with 5 other people at some point in a 3 bedroom apartment. -Not everyone makes it through the training, we started with 19 and ended with 16. - Don't ever expect to get real information from upper management, they easily skirt around your questions

Pros

Squashing Time: Let me get some of the harshness out of the way in regards to some reviews I have read. Some people seem to think that a company owes them 100% for a chance that some people never get. So, I intend to make it clear here about that. Keep in mind this is training and industry preparation they are giving people and it is not easy training, nor should it be. If you do not meet the industry standards of knowledge or experience, even with Revature's help, there is little anyone can do for you, short of a handout. No one is entitled to a job but everyone should be allowed to take a chance and that is exactly what Revature does, they place the ball in your court and help you to keep up toe to toe with people already in the industry. In doing so, they put their necks on the line to give you a chance. The Reality: Revature provides what so many people want. I have heard countless times about the need for people with the skills they train on and the largest problem is the lack of experience using those skills. Employers like that you know what the technologies are but they also want you to have some level of experience with them regardless if you have a bachelors or not. Revature helps to solve this problem. By giving you experience, training and knowledge on these technologies. On top of Revature providing these things they invest in your success. They give you a place to stay at no cost to you, a living allowance to buy food and other needs with and they work with you to invest in your chance to get that experience and get those skills to make you marketable. The only requirement that the individual needs to have coming into Revature is their own way to pay for their personal bills (it would be ridiculous to expect a company like Revature to pay your cell phone, etc.), an open mind, a willingness to work and a passion to succeed at whatever you do. For me, Revature has changed my life and given it an entirely different outlook. Coming from a military background for 5 years and then being able to get trained and start working as a Software Engineer in the IT Development field is literally a change of pace and lifestyle that anyone would have been hard pressed to find right out from the military. Conclusion: As for the military, they are expanding to try and help more people like me with the aptitude for technology and knowledge to be able to do exactly what I have done and go from green to white, within a realistic and short time frame. If you are like me, interested in technology, programming and engineering, and have a military background talk to Revature, seek them out and take a chance to change your life. If you are not military and just simply love technology and programming the same applies, take a chance and go where you want to go and get there in less time than waiting for someone to throw you a bone to get the experience we all are chasing after. If a challenge and hard work is something you embrace to build a brighter future then Revature will help you pave that road and carve that path. Their investment is priceless and all they ask is that you truly give it your full effort and attention so you can get into this field.

Cons

They need to grow in size and have more capability to really get people into the industry and assist them as much as they can while becoming a successful business model. The only con is that they are a small company in comparison to some, but I hope and feel that, that will change and they will grow.

Pros

Training classmates were great. I got confidence in my abilities to do impossibly hard challenges

Cons

Horrible Forced overtime unpaid while hourly Toxic HR Dropped without notice after successfully completing training and told there was a great job opportunity lined up for me because I did so well. Medically diagnosed with severe depression after this experience. Not given accurate or helpful information about unemployment benefits. I did not qualify for unemployment in California during the covid pandemic when my family lost their jobs. I hate them
