Pros

- They find interviews for you

Cons

Been with client for two years (so been with Revature more than two years), pay was decreased TWICE since I've been with client despite stellar performance reviews. PTO cut by MORE THAN HALF because "it's what the employees wanted". Reaching out to HR for help with these issues results in either no response, or "this is our policy". It has become clear to me that Revature does not care at all for their employees.

Pros

There are pros to working at Revature. Job security is good -- Revature really does want to place you with one of their customers. If they can't, they won't make money while they continue paying you minimum wage. Also, if you pass your certifications, they will reimburse the fees associated with taking the certifications -- up to a point. In my experience, if they feel they've spent too much money on you, or if your certifications aren't aligned with the client role in which they're trying to place you, they can decide not to reimburse. So before paying for the certification, be sure to ask about reimbursement. You won't get the same answer from everyone.

Cons

There are many cons to working for Revature, but I want to highlight just one -- you are not placed in a training batch based on your own personal preferences or strengths. You are placed based on what Revature needs for its client companies. Even if you are strong in Java, and want to be a Java Developer, you might be placed in some other technology entirely -- e.g. Salesforce, Automation Testing, Hadoop, etc. If you aren't placed in Java or C#, I would advise you to leave Revature as soon as possible (i.e. don't sign the contract on "Option Day" -- the 10th day of training). Revature will try to hype up the alternative technology -- don't buy into the hype. It's a sales pitch that reveals nothing about your future satisfaction, or what tasks actual clients will want you to do. I've heard great things about the Java/C# training, and many companies are looking for Java/C# developers. But the other technologies can have much worse outcomes for you. Based on my experience and what I've heard, the training is more likely to be sub-par, and you are more likely to be placed in a role where you don't get opportunities to improve your skills. Remember the contract terms that you've undoubtedly read on Reddit, despite the attempts to keep them hush-hush? Are you willing to risk being under those terms, while stagnating? Are you that desperate? All this to say -- if you aren't placed in Java or C#, really really research the technology, and decide whether working in it will advance your skills or career. Go over the contract terms with a real lawyer, and decide if you're comfortable with all the implications, since Revature has no incentive to fully explain them to you. If you don't like what you find, run for the hills on "Options Day". Best of luck to you!

Pros

-The training program that I went through was a very intense 10 week program. I spent most days working outside of the training program, but the instructors were very good at teaching technologies. Instructors were always open to questions if I felt I was falling behind. -I was given an offer with my client less than one week after training concluded. -Company offers reimbursement for programming certs and moving costs. -Company works with contractors prior to hiring process, so for many associates contractors are available immediately after training is finished.

Cons

-Housing situation stinks. The apartments are ok, but typically associates live with 6 people in a 3 bedroom apartment. Prior to moving in I was told that housing would take care of amenities, but after moving in I was told that I had to buy these items myself. -I would suggest having a bit of money saved up prior to moving if you're using housing. Pay after taxes and housing costs was around $300 every two weeks, which was very hard to live on. -No real control over what program you are entered in or where you might end up after training is finished.
