Mistreatment of disabled veteran

Pros

Paid training and get to move across the country

Cons

During training it puts an amount of stress that is hard to deal when you are disabled and having your performance rated sub par. Been threatened with termination before my ADA requests have been approved which seems inappropriate. I would have said something but my disability makes that hard now. There should be more help for people that are trying to get back into the workforce and into society. I also don't like when a characteristic of my disability effects my job rating.

Hello and thank you for sharing your experience with us. We would like to speak with you further to understand specifics, as it is not within our policy to mention termination prior to consideration and processing of any ADA request. Revature is certainly here to help people get back into the workforce, Veterans included, disabled or otherwise, and we're happy to have been able to make this happen for so many. That being said, the details of your experience are extremely important to us, so please do contact us at ceo-feedback@revature.com so we can connect with you and further understand in more detail. Thank you in advance and we look forward to hearing from you.

Mixed Feelings

Pros

Let's get one thing out of the way. I benefited immensely from joining Revature. I went from not knowing anything about programming to being able to develop crappy multi-tier applications in 12 weeks. -They pay minimum wage during this period where you produce nothing for the company. -It is possible to be placed in a good company. (I am working with Apple client)

Cons

The quality of instruction varies. Some are phenomenal. Others are downright terrible. The phenomenal teachers tend to be former students and Revature puts too much pressure on them. Many of your peers are not well-adjusted socially. Expect some people to be out there. The sales team will pull numbers out of their a** when you confront them.

Pros

It is paid training, minimal wage and they do help you jump start your career. I love my assignment!

Cons

You paid housing. Relocation is a joke. The dont pay you holiday, even if the contractor is paying it. PTO doesn't start for 6 months from you start your assignment date. DC is not considered a higher cost of living area, but Austin is.
