Pros

The training is really just interview prep and if you get through it all you should be able to land a job at a good company that will serve as a good stepping stone for your career.

Cons

You have to relocate on very little money You are stuck with them making way below market for two years If your project with a client comes to an end, which has happened to some of my friends weeks after starting it, you go on "the bench" and go back to minimum wage until you are placed with another client and you will likely have to relocate again with very little assistance. I would say if you don't have a CS degree and you're dying to get into the field this isn't the worst thing in the world, but if you do just put in a solid week of interview prep and try to find something on your own.

Thank you for your feedback. By offering relocation assistance, we are trying to proactively address and defray the cost of moving for our employees. But we acknowledge that your feedback does have merit, which is why we're increasing the amount that we're offering to our employees. Unlike bootcamps, where people pay to attend then hope they find a job, Revature pays for three months of training. Comparatively, it's a cost savings of $20,000-$30,000 depending on the bootcamp. When those saving are factored into the salary that starts on day one of training, Revature employees come out ahead. Thanks again for your feedback!

Pros

- May get a job and underpay you, but it could take months in staging - Interview coaching

Cons

- Zero transparency - Will straight up lie to get you to sign a contract - Will lie when you question business practices - the trainers are internal hires so they barely no more than you will. Just reteaching the same stuff - Training is not as in-depth as advertised. - PAYS YOU MINIMUM WAGE AND THEN TAKES HALF. ( you'll make about $200-300 take home pay every other week) - Only for the most desperate of desperate job seekers who don't have a family, bills, or ties of any type - HR is a giant mess - Spend 40 hours training and 40 hours outside of class doing projects -

Pros

Great for people that have just graduated and need experience. They guide you and show you everything you need to develop a skill. You get to present your projects, it may sound scary at first. But you build confidence before you know it. You build the experience you need and a great portfolio. You get good benifits.

Cons

You don't get to know which company you're mapped to until later in the training. And you don't get to choose your company You might have to be away from your family at certain times because of relocation. You get into a 10 week training to prepare you with the right skills and soft skills. Then you will be interviewing until a client/another company accepts you. So you might not get accepted right away. Your 45k salary only starts when you get accepted by a client
