Pros

Solid experience, interesting niche, good business model, ok health insurance

Cons

Extremely toxic work environment. Several employees regularly shout at each other and throw temper tantrums. The office itself is a joke and very poorly set up. "Work-hard-play-hard" was promised except that it rarely occurred. When it does, by the time you're done working hard you want to be no where near your coworkers. "We're not clock-punchers. We go home when the job is done" doesn't mean you go home early. It means after 9 hours in the office you just take your work home with you and finish there. There's no retirement benefits or true work from home options.

Pros

Brainspace is a fun place to work especially in Dallas. I've been in the startup scene in Dallas for several years and no gets culture like Brainspace. When I joined a couple years ago I was a little nervous about losing the vacation time I had built up, but was surprised to hear they had no vacation policy. You leave when you want to leave, just make it work with your team. I like that and it works. The software is cool and we are all pretty motivated to work on it. I'm a developer and most companies I've been in the sales guys are annoying. That's not the case here. Some of them are actually pretty competent and help us understand how our product is being used (or not). I don't mind working late when my team does and we do help, each other.

Cons

I think the culture is going to be tested. We were bought late last year so it will be interesting to see if the culture survives. We lost a couple people, but I wasn't too surprised who left. Time will tell.

Pros

Lots of professional talent, still holds on to the start-up culture. Executive team in solid contact with entire staff, no stratification appearing yet. Making great strides with the technology, continually evolving and improving.

Cons

Small company, means that your job could encompass many things. For example, when wiring needs to be run, you could be tapped to help out.
