Pros

The work is rewarding with a flexible schedule and decent PTO/sick days

Cons

Pay and pay raises. Pay raises are $0.50/year and everyone is severely underpaid unless you've been there for 20+ years. Corporate only cares about profits and will say this in quarterly meetings. There are different standards for promotions depending on the department that you're in.

Coming out of turmoil

Pros

Opportunity to gain experience in oligonucleotide synthesis technology, NGS technology, and more at the Lafayette site. Very focused on operations at the Lafayette site which improved one's sense of how to produce useful products for our customers. Good compensation for scientists positions, even if the title is inflated and is actually just a manufacturing associate or a QC analyst respectively at another company. They pay well.

Cons

Management has a propensity in various positions to hire people that don't work out and leave relatively quickly. Turnover in manufacturing can be large and siloed work places can make work lonely.
