Exhausted and abandoned

Pros

Just the car and 401k with a mediocre medical plan.

Cons

The vacancies are getting out of control. There are some territories that have been abandoned for over a year. Retailers are upset they have not seen a rep from the company. And when someone shows up, it’s a revolving door of reps trying to visit the stores for call coverage and not actually helping the customer with their needs. TMs are expected to meet the goals of their own territory while trying to cover vacant territories. All at the same time the company is pushing initiatives down the pipeline with full knowledge of all the vacancies. There are divisions out there with half of the team vacant and the remaining members have to work double. Somethings like quality of service and taking care of our accounts are sacrificed for the good of hitting a call coverage number. Pay has been mentioned here many times but it is a serious cause for concern. Even when they increase the pay structure, people are still leaving the organization. I think the company miscalculated the competitive rate and it shows from all the resignations. Some of our most seasoned TM veterans in the field even DMs and KAMs have put in resignations for better opportunities in most recent years. Last one is toxic DMs. Some are great leaders giving full support to their teams. But TMs within regions all know (and talk about) who is the DM and/or DMs no one wants. We have all seen first hand how some DMs drive their teams down to the point of depression (medical stress leave) and end up leaving the company. The DMs are given too much control and not enough accountability for the results of their actions.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and advice. TMs play a vital role within the organization, and the recruitment of top talent to join the Trade Marketing team remains a top priority. We're appreciative of the team work and dedication that goes into ensuring customers' needs are met during periods when vacancies exist.

Pros

Benefits, salary, peers, resources- I have learned a lot and feel I have been professionally developed quite regularly up until the last few years as the company no longer values this. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy the employees and direct leadership. I feel like my boss and VP have my best interest at heart and make a solid effort to provide support and an enjoyable work environment, regardless of how those above them lead.

Cons

I could honestly write an entire essay here but what's the point, it will fall on deaf ears. Reynolds was once a place that was highly respected by competitors and employees alike. It was viewed as a solid career choice with longevity and professional growth. This is sadly no longer the case. It would be unfair to blanket statement and say "leadership" sucks but as the old saying goes, a few bad apples really do spoil the whole bunch. A few of these individuals have placed a black cloud over this once amazing company and are so tone deaf and oblivious to it, change is next to impossible. At the end of the day my work life balance is manageable and I love my boss and peers, but the disappointment and overall depressed tone of the organization has me wanting to jump ship asap (along with many of my high performing peers).

Pros

401k match, company car, decent vacation.

Cons

Too many market launches in a short time period. We took a hard right into a CPG company and lost our culture along the way. They are becoming greedy Field employees have transformed into a number instead of a person.
