Pros

Not many… They are now taking our bonuses

Cons

Directors are narcissists and they are being encouraged by executives to stay that way. They have taken a world class organization and made it a old school dictatorial boys club. The executive team is so white we have to ware shades. Look it up for yourself. They talk diversity but where is the proof. Minorities are placed only where it makes sense culturally but not in upper managment. HR is doing nothing about the forcing out of good people. The more tenure you have the bigger the target on your back. If you are looking to work here. Make your money, gain some experience and then go find a better company.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Creating a culture of diversity and inclusion is one of our top priorities. To maintain the continuous progress we’re making, we have set our ambitions. By 2025, we aim to significantly increase minority representation in management and senior management roles and to reach gender parity in management roles.

Pros

Compensation Company car Benefits Co-workers that you share a foxhole with while the BAT Luftwaffe is circling the skies. Vacation Parental leave Training -use this to build your resume the go get the job you want at the company you want.

Cons

RJ Reynolds was a great company with a great culture and everyone was going to retire at RJR. Then BAT came rowing to shore like a Viking horde. They came in "peace" at first and lured you into the vision and future. Then small changes started to happen. Change is good for any business and keeping up with market dynamics is a must. These changes were small brain washing changes. They took away informed decisions from the field and everything started falling under a dictatorship regime. The regime sets mandatory goals that are unattainable for the field. These goals have caused everyone to stab each other in the back to explain why goals were not met. Driving inventory is a good strategy but only if you actually make enough product to keep wholesale and retail stocked. However, BAT is driving inventory on mandatory product force outs which is ruining relationships at retail because they can't afford $50k worth of product that won't sell. You better not reduce the template because you will find yourself out of your foxhole and the Luftwaffe will target you. You will be required to relocate if you want to advance your career. That's fine as most companies do. However, you might not get promoted again. It's very political and you are at the mercy of your direct manager and senior director to go to bat for you and push you to the AVP to get promoted. You could get stuck because upper managers have no spine or courage to push you. You need a career backup plan.

Pros

Pay check arrives on time every 2 weeks, well below competitive companies with a ton more work. 401 K Car, but it cost $175 a month & it’s jammed full of equipment

Cons

With almost 20 years on the job I can honestly say I would not recommend this company to anyone. We do the work of 5 Reps & make less than other companies that handle a fraction of our brands. BAT has become a hostile employer, whom does not care one bit for the people who built this company. It truly feels like they hate us in trade & are actively slamming us with unreasonable amounts of work to try to make us quit. I used to love my job & had passion for the business & wanted to win in the market place. No more. BAT has beaten that out of me. All we do everyday is reset the stores we just reset last month, then, reset them again! This company waste so much money on signage & constantly sends more & more it’s unreal. They don’t want to pay us fairly but out spend every other company hands down with constant updated materials. We throw away so much stuff it makes us sick out here. So wasteful & irresponsible. Money, I work for fair compensation however, BAT is a dishonest organization. This year we were told we would get a 2.7% pay increase but, guess what we only received 2%. Further more our sales goals are completely unachievable. I worked my tail off selling Vuse but, because I came in below 90% of my goal I & many others received nothing in that category. I believed in the company & thought they would take care of me. We are told to go faster, do more, work harder. For what? This company is always bragging how much money they make & how sales & profits are more than ever but, find ways to not pay their employees. I live in a State were the average cost of a house is over $650,000 but because I live on the wrong side of a line on a map I make $11,000 less per year than my counter parts. How is this fair? My advice to anyone looking to work here is stay away. All the money stays at the top in this organization. Hey management, I understand you work to increase shareholder value but, how much company stock is held by the little guys? (employees) some of us have been buying for years. How can we own stock in a company that actively mistreats us? Answer, we can’t own a piece of a company we don’t believe in. Maybe this is why the price has been stagnant since BAT took over.
