Pros

Work with very knowledgeable people. Company car you can use on the weekends. Work from home

Cons

Pay is not comparable to industry standards. Our competitor starts at 15k more than a new hire Territory Managers for an almost identical job. Promotions are a joke. Even though favoritism is commonplace in most companies, here is a must to get promoted. Sales numbers don’t matter neither does work ethic. You just have to have management like you and you have to give off the impression that your a hard worker not actually work hard. Play the corporate game. If you want to move up in the company, be prepared to drop everything and move to some unknown area. If you turn down a promotion offer you are forever blacklisted and will never get another offer. Workload is crazy busy. Been in the company 15 years and in the last 5 years has been brand launches galore. We force all these new products down our customers throat and tell them “it’s in the contract” without further explanation is now the norm. The number of brands we are responsible for have tripled but the pay is still the same. The company is best in class for the exploitation of the folks in the field. Work life balance these days is a myth. This is also the highest turnover I’ve seen in a long time. Depending on where you get placed after you get hired, your manager may be a micromanager. It is a simple business if management allows it but for some reason some people want to over complicate the basics. So if you do get hired and you end up working for a manager that micromanages this simple business model then you will realize very quickly why it was vacant in the first place. CRM technology is absolutely the worst. Our Salesforce program is supposed to be the only application we should be using. However, because it is substandard, we have to have other tools open such as calculate pricing. CRM crashes constantly and data loss is incurred as a result. Big fail on the company to spend millions on a failed CRM. In conclusion, if you are desperate and unemployed take this position in this company. However, I suggest looking for a position outside the industry because it is shrinking. But if you must join this industry join Altria. They have better pay and benefits.

Pros

Initially upon starting, the compensation was great…especially the 9% on the 401k - 6% match dollar for dollar and the 3% annual enhancement.

Cons

The employee value proposition began shrinking quickly. Not only did they significantly reduce tuition reimbursement amounts, but they significantly scaled back on employee recognition programs. They continued to strip away meaningful employee benefits in the name of profit. Additionally, this company refuses to modernize. BAT has killed whatever vestiges of legacy culture were left. After 2 years of corporate employees working from home during the pandemic, they refused to allow remote work even for roles where being in person is 100% unnecessary…newflash, a Tobacco company isn’t exactly an employer of choice and neither is Winston-Salem in terms of location. Unless of course you’re 35+ and married with children. Reynolds will continue to hemorrhage talent and will fail to attract anyone due to its a refusal to come into the 21st century with its culture and practices. Sad to see how fast this company went downhill. I have ZERO regrets about leaving.

Pros

Good pay, and health benefits.

Cons

IA’s and the HR team have really pushed this company downhill. They are all bullies. The excuses for the mass exodus on the Town Hall was a joke. Unless you are going to be set up with a good severance package, I suggest others should follow.
