Pros

Good place to work to gain B2B account management experience. Excellent benefits, company car, great health ins, laptop, cellie, free cigs. The employees are very nice people and are always willing to lend a helping hand if you are new.

Cons

Tobacco is a very contreversial item to sell, be prepared. Although, as long as you have thick skin you will be fine, After all this is a product for ADULTS. They will not consider relocating you or even hiring you if you are not willing to relocate.

Pros

Salary is good for most positions and they give you a company car.

Cons

Promotions are based on favoritism and politics, basically the good old boy system...no females have made it to Senior level management, only white males have been moved into the last 6 promotions. The company is full of very young, inexperienced entry and senior level managers. Upper management does not support their direct reports, instead they are more concerned with getting ahead themselves and will do anything to anyone who gets in their way. The company likes to promote what a great place it is to work but the majority of field sales and home office employees are extremely unhappy. Very high turnover in management and sales, in upwards of 30%. Management is unprofessional and leaks out personal information to anyone who will listen. This company is a wreck and no one cares because the American Spirit brand is growing and very profitable. The Executive Leadership Team is on loan from RJ Reynolds Tobacco and these ELT members are moving back to RJ Reynolds, so what do they care, well, they care about themselves and getting themselves ahead. This is a company where you watch your back, watch what you say because you never know who will be your boss tomorrow and you never know who will try to take you down, even for something you didn't do. It's such a sad state that a great brand is being managed by a not so great company.
