Pros

Good work-life balance, ok benefits (401k match, health, etc.)

Cons

Rewarding is based on favoritism not what you accomplished, how well you do your job. Politics in office is unbearable. Career opportunities are very limited even though Rio Tinto is a huge company. There is no exchanging employees between other subsidiaries. Strong resistance against any new approach. Very Ops oriented company. If you are ambitious, creative and dont like politics go somewhere else.

Pros

• Great benefits • lower management/ leaders recognizes work/life balance. • Decent pay

Cons

• Upper management is too unplugged from the network; ignores the reasons of employee’s dissatisfaction until it’s too late. They say they have a retention issue, but refuse to listen to the commonalities driving this factor. Placing individuals in positions they don’t want to be in/aren’t disciplined in (feel like a pawn). • Too many people doing the same job, ends up with some having valid work while others take on less meaningful work. • Nepotism is surprisingly high and looks like it plays a part in fulfilling positions. • Promotions aren’t based on competence.
