I've never worked in the gaming industry before, mostly because of its bad reputation of how badly they treat their employees, especially the tech teams. Therefore, I was really hesitant in joining Riot Games at the beginning. As the interview process went on, I discovered a company with people sharing the same core values as mine. It felt like I finally found what I was looking for: a tribe in which I would be able to go on new adventures and take on many new challenges :)
Cons
* Riot is not for everyone
Being given so much freedom and ownership might be overwhelming and not for everyone. Don't expect someone guiding you day to day and telling you what to do. We will help you if you ask for it, but nobody is going to babysit you. You are the captain of your destiny at Riot :)
* Culture fit is a must
We can create such a great working environment because we believe in the same core values. So we will often default to not hire someone if we happen to have some doubt about this.
