Too Much Culture

Pros

Great benefits and very employee focused company - very forward thinking place - good salaries and pretty good chance for advancement - lots of cross functional jobs

Cons

Too focused on culture and wanting everyone to fit into it. During orientation they say repeatedly, "Just be yourself". What they really mean is be yourself as long as it just like everyone else here. Bottom line: If you are not a gamer and you don't play the game then you don't belong here. Even if your job is not centered on the game or really has anything to do with the game you will be required or "strongly urged" to become a gamer.

Pros

Good benefits Talented people across disciplines A real passion for making great games within game teams

Cons

Career progression is legitimately terrible. You can slave away get positive feedback and be stuck at the senior level forever in spite outperforming those a level above you for years (I've seen this happen to multiple people in multiple disciplines) Leadership favors hiring at the highest levels but doesnt manage to fill out our ranks with promising associate/mid levels. Half the people they hire dont end up performing It feels like every director just fills out principal roles like supreme court justices Vertical DEI kinda sucks. Teams aren't very diverse especially in design and engineering. Everyone is white or east asian and basically no women

Pros

Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing

Cons

Horrible culture. Horrible hours. Horrible people. They will put you on a PIP when they decide that they don't want you anymore. No wonder why they have all these law suits chasing after them.
