The best days are in the past. The company has become just another share holder value company where the average employee is a number not a name. I would not recommend anyone working for this new company that does not epitomize the values that Dave instilled in so many employees and what made the company so great.

We see it as much more than that: providing our customers great service, our suppliers honest dealings, our investors trustworthiness and our employees fair opportunity. I've only been here a month, but so far I feel very welcome and embraced by everyone I've met. My previous job had a culture where you are seen but not heard by upper management. So far, that is not the case here. CEO types will say hi to you in the hall - it is more integrated and less hierarchical. It also a comfortable work environment, with lots of amenities, and housed in a beautiful, modern building. There is a hunger here for new ideas and enthusiasm to take this company into the future.

Cons

There seems to be an undercurrent of division between how Ritchie Bros used to function and how it is today, or where its going in the future. You will hear often of a wide management change in 2014. However, this is unlikely to be a problem if you are not connected with Ritchie Bros.' past.
