- You may occasionally do tasks outside of your scope of work because it is a smaller business and everyone wants to be a team player!

Pros

-Every team is comprised of extremely knowledgeable and friendly personnel. -There's room for growth within your role. -Access to lots of educational information and training. -Monthly company luncheon events. -Above average 401k match rate. -No matter how big or small your role, "What you do matters" and it's frequently recognized. Employee recognition and appreciation are extremely common.

Cons

-Can take a while to be granted a security clearance if you don't have one prior. -Some days are busy and fast, others are slow and drawn out. -If you're part of a team that works at NUWC, if the base is closed, you'll be unable to report to work unless you can work remotely. -Paid Leave system can be a struggle for new hires, especially around the holiday season.

Quickly expanding no-longer-that-small company

Pros

Lots of teams. Lots of opportunities to contribute to US national defense. Recent brown bag company-wide meetings let you see what all sorts of teams are working on. Lots of flexibility in where/when you work (at least for software engineering)

Cons

Middling compensation. Although that is a bit expected for a government contractor
