Pros
Not bad to get starter management experience for a young person. Can be fun with the right co-workers and managers. Just don't stay too long, it's a dead-end.
Cons
Most of the store managers shouldn't be i their positions, they are just glorified salesmen and not really managers. The stores are really run by the district managers, who to a man look down on the sales associates.I know, I was on both sides. They want blood and truly think it's a privilege to work there. No give and take, it's only one way and if you don't like it too bad. If you need a particular day off , say to go to the doctor, not an extra day but just a certain day off, they want 30 days notice and you have to use a vacation day. Hard to believe but it's true.
