Pros

As in most service industries, the vast majority of your money is made in tips (cash), and they feed you very well and provide and clean all your uniforms. Good travel benefits-many times you can stay at a nice Marriott for $39 per night. Very good tips during high season-at least $200-$250 per day.

Cons

They basically own you and treat you like a slave. Be prepared to deal with some of the most rude, unpleasant, and demanding guests you could possibly imagine. Forget about family/social life, as your schedule changes every week and always includes weekends.

Pros

Even front line employees have a great amount of freedom on how to do things. Plenty of training, opportunity to do cross training in other departments. Great growth opportunities as the company prefers to promote own employees instead of taking somebody from outside. Good staff food.

Cons

All usual cons of hospitality industry; dealing with rude or drunk customers, shifts, working on week-ends etc.
