Pros

Exposure to a diverse client base. Great introduction to some of the local business community.

Cons

The first assignment I was on was so enjoyable that I was sad it had to end. I worked with some exceptionally talented colleagues and completed a difficult project in less than the expected time. I was there for about 5 weeks and enjoyed a free exchange of knowledge and experience in completing the task with my co-workers. There were hugs all around when my team and I finished the project, and we even celebrated by going out for a beer! However, on my second assignment, I was sent into an extremely toxic and hostile environment to do menial labor (processing accounts payable) and feel emotionally battered by the Jekyll and Hyde management techniques which I was exposed to. As a CPA, I consider myself a respectable person, and feel degraded by this recent experience. As a kicker, the toxic company is dragging its feet on payment. I am on the fence about accepting another assignment with Accountemps.

Pros

You will meet a lot of people, the constant flow of employees coming and going will increase your network on LinkedIn.

Cons

A lot of reviews on here are from people who placed in temporary positions through RHI, not truly an employee in my opinion. The job they sell you on....Staffing Manager/Recruiter is not at all what it ends up being. It is a pure sales job. You end up working like a dog, 55+ hours every week, told people who take lunch will never succeed and no matter what you do it is never enough. RHI does so well financially because they find every reason they can to take commissions away from their own employees. Meanwhile, they tout they are the only staffing company not in debt, well their cheap ways show. The offices are the most sparse, stripped down space I have ever even seen. They love to hire young people who do not have very much experience because they can mold them and get them to think this is the way it is supposed to be. It's not. They use their employees for everything they have and toss them out with the trash. RHI likes to say they are in the "people business." Yes...they are in the business of using people. Their own staff and the temporary people they place at an 80% mark-up.

Pros

Base salary which is not a draw

Cons

100% cold calling, do not let them fool you into thinking these are warm calls where there are already established relationships. If a relationship is established that means that customer is already one of your co-workers client and you are not allowed to talk to them. You need to be a telemarketer for this job, if you are used to a consultative sales approach you will fail here. The level of Micro Management is absurd, everything is measured and quantified and then reviewed twice a day with your manager Hostile work environment, it is every man for themselves and since there are no territories you have to get used to snakes stealing and calling on the clients you established a relationship with. Management will not care if the client was stolen as long as money was made! Arguably the most confusing commission schedule of any fortune 500 company. I asked people who worked there for 3 years how it worked and they were still confused, but they told me it is not good. This is a turn and burn boiler room sales environment! If this is not your style, stay away. Full Disclosure: Me and everyone single person I was hired on with was fired within 3 months of working there.
