Supportive, fun and challenging

Pros

- Team Culture is a big focus for the CEO and leadership teams which is why getting all of the offices together for our annual global conference is prioritised. This is a great few days (at amazing locations such as Hawaii) full of team-building exercises, training, panels, and recreation. Rokt has a handful of core values and one is 'Smart with Humility' - I think this sums up the culture at Rokt nicely.  - Work, Life Balance - My workload has always been fair. A good balance between busy and challenging but not overwhelming. Our CEO has just given the whole company a day off to focus on taking time out during a very anxious and touch time with COVID 19 and its challenges.  - Career progression at Rokt is attainable if you work hard and have a proven impact on the business. This sometimes relies on you making your impact known and celebrated.  - Support - Rokt has gone above and beyond to ensure people feel supported. during COVID we have had ongoing sessions on how to balance working from home, balancing work and home demands, as well as constant reminders to reach out to our people team if anyone is feeling like they require further support. I have also had some personal misfortunes and Rokt supported me as best they could through a very hard time. I was deeply grateful for this.

Cons

- I have seen Rokt handle a situation where multiple complaints were made against a senior manager with next to no action was taken to remedy this. Eventually, after some staff exiting the company, finally, action was taken. I was not only surprised by this but also disappointed.  - I have not personally encountered this but I do think there are ongoing issues with the ability for effective management. There is room for improvement to ensure that individuals promoted into roles where they have direct reports need to fully understand how to fulfill that role effectively and eliminate any bullying or micromanagement.

Smart with Humility is one of the best values to describe Rokt’s culture, we wouldn’t be where we are today without our people and the time that we share together, whether at an event, in the office or as we are today, working virtually. Thanks for acknowledging the Rokt wellness day, our leaders understand the importance of taking out time to rest and recharge, especially during a time such as COVID, we hope you enjoy the two we have just announced over the next two months. We are happy to hear that you have felt supported during these difficult times. We would really like to further dive into the people issue you mention, if you are open to a confidential discussion with the People team please reach out, we want your input on how we can address things in a quicker fashion. In regards to effective management, we are continuing to build out our learning and development initiatives for current and emerging leaders. We want to set our team members up for success in their roles.

A great place to work

Pros

You will work with very smart, friendly and humble people. No matter how smart you are - you will learn a lot from them. There are many great perks (lunches, funded social clubs, technical and level-up allowance). Super-convenient office location (Sydney). There are regular surveys that allow upper management to detect issues in organisation and they do put real effort to fix them. It feels to me that Rokt becomes a better place to work every year.

Cons

Things change fast. If you like stability - this might not be your company. Every couple weeks your team might have a different "number one priority". Some people call it "agility", some people call it "chaos".

We appreciate your comment around how seriously we take the feedback from our employee engagement surveys each quarter and how thoughtfully and effectively we respond to the issues that come up in each survey - we try our best to make sure we address employee feedback in a timely and effective manner. We truly believe our people are our greatest asset and we want to make sure they feel heard, understood and cared for. We agree - we are a very fast paced growing business and it is at times difficult to plan and anticipate a full year (sometimes quarter) in advance. We understand this might cause a sense of ‘chaos’ but we also embrace this as we go through an accelerated growth period. We encourage you to reach out to any member of the leadership team to share this feedback and help us work on a solution to ensure we offer a more ‘flow driven’ approach to planning for teams that are facing frustration in this area.
