Pros

Salary and bonus structure are competitive. The on-boarding process is very thorough, you learn a lot. The education I received at Ross has carried through my career.

Cons

When it came down to it, I left because I was treated like trash - I went from a team that respected/valued me, but which I had been a part of for years. I was moved to a different area (I asked to) to diversify my experiences at the company. My Buyer, VP and GVP in my last six months were cliquey, gossipy, disrespectful, condescending and more focused on identifying the reasons why I couldn’t succeed (yawned too often, was expressive, had a different way of getting from point A to point B than they had), than on developing me as an assistant. It came down to them having a personality issue me; entirely unrelated to my talents and accomplishments at Ross. I’m lucky to have gotten out when I did, and am extremely happy at my new company. As Ross has grown, upper management has seemed to lose interest in the most important asset - the people. They’ll continue to have high turnover if they cannot figure this out.

Pros

You become very close with your fellow Assistants on your team because you end up crying on each others shoulders because its so terrible to work there!

Cons

Management does not train AT ALL!!! Every conversation you have is a test and if you don't pass EVERY single test, it will be held against you until review time. There is terrible work life balance, Assistants end up working 12 hour work days (which is fine except the pay does not reflect the effort) Different levels of management will give you conflicting feedback so you never really know what to work on or how to improve.
