Pros

The employee discount is good, and three times a year you got 40% off all store merchandise.

Cons

They cancel scheduled hours at the last minute, and the management was lazy

Pros

I would not recommend this employer to anyone, however, I like some of my coworkers, but the management treats the employees like crap.

Cons

No recognition, everything that is done is criticized. It's not really "all about the people" as senior leadership believes. No work life balance. Sometimes most of us are handling our own position as well as other vacant positions.

Pros

Great discount Great health insurance 2 weeks paid vacation after year of full time I loved my store management for the most part Paid birthday and anversery day off I enjoyed the people I worked with and all of us got along really well. Our store pretty much stayed clean and organized because of such great people that helped keep it cleaned up. The buddy trainer system is by far the best, because you will know what is expected of you when you start on Register.

Cons

*Lack of payroll *No room for growth unless you suck-up to upper management *If you have open availability you will pretty much work every single weekend! *As a FES I had to work every Sunday 11 am-9 pm *We only had 4 full time spots and I only got promoted when the past FES got fired. When I started out as FES I wasn't on register to much and was able to do my job the way the management wanted me to do. I actually felt like I was doing something worth while. When the company had the bright idea of making the FES the head cashier only then did it go down hill. As a FES I was in charge of all of my cashiers, ringing up on my register, handling all customer service questions(*ie discounts for stains, holds for things, price checks), handling the employees breaks, making sure that the employees where doing what needed to be done, getting change for my other cashiers, cleaning up the back counter, looking out for theft, and all while getting paid less then $8 bucks! It just got to be to stressful and I couldn't do it anymore. I seriously wonder if any other FES at Ross had a similar problems as I did?! They put way to much on there full time employees and expect them to be perfect! I never got anything done but cashiering and the front ended up falling apart because I wasn't able to be as organized as I once was. The star cards are worthless and only are giving out by sucking up to the management.
