Outstanding location in Evanston, fairly decent pay and excellent benefits, especially for a non-profit. It is wonderful working for an organization that contributes to the overall success and sustainability of the world. They encourage learning and professional development and wish well for your success.

Hello, and thank you for being a part of the Rotary team. We could not accomplish our global efforts without all of your contributions. Because of this, your feedback is very important to us. Professional development is one of our core values at Rotary. We provide a variety of in-person, and online trainings that are available to our staff members. Our recent training topics included: Assertiveness in the Workplace, Giving and Receiving Feedback, Interviewing and Hiring, Business Etiquette, and many more. We’ve also introduced our Leadership Attribute Model that allows employees of all levels to identify their areas of strength and opportunity, so they can create a career path within Rotary. Once an employee has taken the opportunity to self-assess their attributes, they are encouraged to create a professional development plan to determine goals and the actions needed to reach them. While adding talent to Rotary is always important, we believe that cultivating the existing talent among our staff is what really sets us apart from other organizations. If you'd like to discuss these areas further, we encourage you to reach out at GlobalPeopleandTalent@rotary.org. - RI Global People and Talent Team

Pros

In the time I was working for RI, I watched the company culture evolve. It is not run like a small non-profit - you will receive an employment experience that can prepare you for the for-profit career.

Cons

Due to the positive culture and employees' dedication to the organization's mission and impact to the globe, there can sometimes be limited opportunities for advancement. My advice would be to look for new lateral opportunities, which in time can make you a more attractive candidate for upward mobility.
