Not as good as it seems

Pros

- 9/80 flex schedule - 4 volunteer half days per year - Easy to bond with coworkers over how much we dislike the office

Cons

- Extremely high turnover (we lost 7 employees in 6 months- only 14 in the office) - Low morale in the office and management doesn't seem to care- nothing is done after low survey results - When you tell management you are not happy you either get a condescending response or something along the lines of "get on board or get off" - Branch manager is too busy to be involved/ give advice, I would have left a lot sooner if it wasn't for my team lead - One-on-one meetings with the branch manager are more awkward than helpful - Expect you to exceed high metrics while constantly throwing new tedious tasks at you - When you leave they take all of your commission, even when you leave on good terms- My client paid their fee on my last day and they did not pay me because the payment was posted the next day. Many people feel trapped at Roth for this reason. - Every one of my coworkers who left hates the company and is much happier in their new positions - I quit almost a month ago and no one has reached out for an exit interview (they don't even pretend to care...)

Your engagement survey feedback is the very reason why the senior vice president of Roth Staffing came to your branch to sit down one-on-one and discuss your concerns. Your feedback is taken very seriously and we do appreciate all that you shared. We did not reach out for an exit interview because you were able to share all of your grievances directly with the senior vice president before you left.

Pros

Great on-boarding and new employee training, they really focus on culture and sales training.

Cons

heavy in cold calling and hitting sales goals. Additionally, if you actually care about recruiting and helping people - staffing firms aren't the place. It's more like a puppy mill of filtering people into temp working than helping them find their 'forever homes'.

We truly appreciate your genuine feedback. Your perception as a coworker was that the bill rate and sales calls were more important than the experience created for the candidate - that is helpful feedback and should not be the norm. Yes, the only way we can help more people is to contact more businesses (we have to be diligent about sales calls or we ultimately let our candidates down), and the only way to fund more programs for our candidates and employees is to price our business competitively so it's good that you noticed an emphasis in those two areas. But as you also know, our organization places particular emphasis on making life better for the people we serve which means doing what's best for the candidate. Our business is temporary placements and often a contract position is a great avenue for a candidate to discover where their 'forever home' should be. It's likely you were with our company to experience the significant increase in direct hire placements (and the emphasis our organization placed on these 'forever home' placements) in the past two years. We're with you - we want to do more for the people we place and are making great strides. Feedback like yours will help us keep our sights set on helping candidates, while also doing what's best for the business clients we partner with.

Glassdoor's policy for company reviews requires that all posts include a "pro" and a "con." It appears your review doesn't quite fit those parameters and we suspect that there might be a particular incident that has motivated your review. We would certainly encourage you to share more details so that we can be more responsive and helpful. It says that you are a "current employee" but your rating and review demonstrate active disengagement in your role. We either want to help find you a role where you will be passionate and excited about serving the people who depend on us or find a way to resolve the issues affecting your current role. Please DO privately contact our HR department and allow us to find resolution for you. We sincerely appreciate your review and feel the topic of "family" (or perceived nepotism) is an important one to address on this forum since the Roth Staffing organization is, in fact, owned by the Roth family. Of the 100+ managers at Roth Staffing, only four have a relation to the Roth family name including the founder, Ben Roth (father), the President, Adam Roth (son), and the director and person who launched the technology staffing line, Brett Roth (son). Both Adam and Brett started with the company at an entry level position and "worked the desk" for more than two years before advancing into management roles. Both quickly excelled and achieved top performer success in offices separated and independent from the corporate headquarters. Both are respected and admired by their peers and were recommended by fellow company leaders to take on additional leadership roles. After serving in an entry level position, Adam launched an entirely new line of staffing (legal staffing) and served in a management role for two years before being asked by the senior leadership team to assume a senior role within the Roth Staffing organization. It's also important to note that with Ben, Adam and Brett in senior leadership positions, the company continues to be recognized as one of the best employers in the entire industry, its customers continue to verify in independent research studies that Roth Staffing continues to deliver experiences at an exceptional level, and the temporary employees and candidates served by the company continue to validate in a variety of indpendent studies that Roth Staffing is the very best company to temp for. There are lots of areas for improvement and Roth Staffing's leadership continues to be motivated and energized by the possibilities of what the company can still achieve and the impact it can make on the lives of the people who work for the company and those served by the company. We thank you for bringing up your concern regarding the family members who help manage the Roth organization and the opportunity it gives us to tell future candidates who are researching our company that, for us, these Roth family leaders have helped our organization achieve remarkable success.
