      Remote work option Diversity of work offered to anyone Plenty of opportunity for really driven individuals

      Cons

      Management plays insane favorites You are expected to work overtime with no compensation They throw any work at the first available engineer regardless of training or background, often without resources and support promised Argue that work parties are why we have non-competitive paid time off, Salary increases rarely reflect performance

      Good place to start, not great long term

      - Great starting salary - Lots of young people - Opportunities to travel - Non-corporate atmosphere - Hands on work

      Cons

      - Raises are not competitive - Team sizes are slim (sometimes it may just be you and a lead supporting a customer project) - As a dev, you oftentimes don’t do software development, you do configuration instead - Vacation is weak - Software standards are not followed. Most projects don’t follow agile / scrum, and do not have proper testing. I was able to commit directly to Main without testing / reviewing

      -Gain a lot of experience very quickly -Opportunities for travel -Okay amount of diversity in junior roles -Hybrid work options -Everyone is like a family

      Cons

      -First year is essentially a probationary period +No vestment on 401K +Not eligible for the bonus pool -Lack of training before being customer facing -During my time there there was no on-site IT or HR -Expected to go the extra mile (usually in the form of 50-60 hour weeks) for approaching deadlines -No negotiation on salary especially for college graduates
